On January 13th 1968, the Lions Club of North Salem was "born", having been sponsored by the Lions Club of Somers; it held its first "Charter Night".

Not too long after its inception the club became active in forming the Ambulance Corps and then presented the Corps with its first ambulance. The Lions then raised funds to equip the vehicle.

Your local Lions club went on to establish a scholarship fund for the North Salem school district and continues to add to it. It has on many occasions provided funds to those in need and also to many of the organizations in your community. It has provided glaucoma screening. It started, funded and continues to fund D.A.R.E. and Quest for the children of the North Salem community.

The Lions of North Salem are the Charter Organization for the North Salem Boy Scouts and to this day continues to have past Troop Masters as active members.

The Lions were the original constructors of Joe Borhdrum Field for the use of the Little Leaguers of our town and continue to contribute financially to its upkeep.

The annual Easter Egg Hunt at P.Q. Elementary School is sponsored and run by the club.

The Annual Antique show, the Harvest Festival at the North Salem Vineyard, and the Phone- A- Thone are organized by the Lions to provide funding.

We provide Public Services, Recreational Services, Health Services, International Services, Social Services, Citizenship Services, and Educational Services. In short,
